Football fans travelling to New Victoria Park this season can now visit the other famous Victoria in Newtongrange for half price.
Away supporters visiting New Victoria Park this season can enjoy a full day’s entertainment in the village thanks to a novel agreement between Newtongrange Star and the National Mining Museum Scotland.
Visiting fans will gain half-price entry into the Lady Victoria Colliery attraction on match days by using a special password sent to their clubs.
Newtongrange Star secretary Gordon Stanners said: “There has been a lot of positive feedback on Junior football fan sites, people from clubs elsewhere saying they hope they get us in the cup.
“It’s a nice wee arrangement and in return we are putting a museum banner up at the ground and leaflets in the clubhouse.
“It’s a win- win situation.”
