West set pace as winter league resumes

THE second round of matches in this season’s Fife & Lothians Winter League take place
tomorrow, with West setting the early pace.

They beat East in their
curtain-raiser a fortnight ago, when the spoils were shared
by Fife and Mid as their clash was abandoned due to bad weather.

Conditions were also wet
at Bathgate, where West
opened their campaign with a
7-3 victory over a strong East side.

It was left to Harburn’s
Jordyn Rhind to produce the best figures of the day, covering 13 holes in five-under,
which was enough to defeat
Calum Burgess (Musselburgh).

At Drumoig, play was
suspended after just two holes before the match was eventually abandoned, leaving Fife and Mid with a point apiece.

Tomorrow, East entertain Fife at Musselburgh while Newbattle is the venue for Mid’s clash with West.
