Whitehill Welfare 2, Selkirk 1
It was back to league business this week and Whitehill struggled to reproduce their Scottish Cup form as they faced up to bottom of the table Selkirk.
Welfare welcomed back Mike Bruce from injury and in goal Paul Tansey took over from Darren Walker.
Selkirk’s intentions were clear – frustrate Whitehill, and as early as the seventh minute Burdett was booked for a foul on Sproule, the first of many cards in the match.
In 35 minutes, Selkirk’s No9 Gibson opened the scoring against the run of play. His shot from 35 yards seemed to bobble off the turf and beat Tansey at his near post.
Match report in this week’s Advertiser - out now.
