19th century Granton paintings back in Scotland
Two paintings of late 19th century Granton Harbour by Edinburgh watercolourist and Royal Scottish Academy exhibiter Peter Ingram Weir have been found in a second-hand shop in Australia and returned to Scotland.
The first depicts the west pier as viewed from shore in 1887.
The second, above, is a 1935 watercolour by the artist from one of his own sketches of Granton Harbour drawn originally in 1888.
It depicts the middle pier as viewed from the end of the breakwater.
The west pier can be seen in the right of the picture.
Both paintings will be sold by auction house Shapes on Saturday.
