Gamble on Ed at The Stand

These days he probably best known for his appearances on shows like Russell Howard’s Good News, Drunk History, and Man Down but unlike many UK stand-ups, Gamble has also made a name for himself in America thanks to the TV series Almost Royal, a faux-reality TV show following the lives of two clueless British aristocrats, Georgie and Poppy Carlton, played by Gamble and Amy Hoggart.

He’s also one of the few British comics to have performed on Conan.

Tomorrow, Gamble returns to the Capital with his sell-out Fringe show Stampede. Part of his first ever nationwide stand-up tour, Stampede tackles some of the biggest issues preoccupying us all, gender, language and cauliflowers.

Gambles other TV appearances include Virtually Famous, Sweat the Small Stuff, and Dave’s One Night Stand, as well as writing credits for Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Ask Rhod Gilbert and supporting Greg Davies, Chris Addison and Russell Kane on tour.

In 2014 he won the Chortle Award for Best Compere.

Last year saw Gamble complete a successful run at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, followed by his second sell-out Fringe run with the show Lawman.

On July 17 this year, Peacock & Gamble sold out Wembley Stadium, 11 years after they met at a gig at Durham University where Peacock was booked to compere a charity show at which Gamble was performing.

Staying in contact, the pair teamed up for The Ray Peacock Podcast, later The Peacock & Gamble Podcast, which led to their Fringe debut, Emergency Broadcast. At The Stand, however, he’ll be flying solo.
