It is the last in a series of weekly international talks organised online by the magazine during the lockdown period, with the aim of looking at the rising incidences of domestic violence during this time.

The two-hour event will feature four artists, including spoken word from Edinburgh hip hop artist Bee Asha about recovering from sexual and emotional trauma.

Amelia Watson will perform poetry and monologues on eating disorders and body image, while Courtney Stoddart will give a spoken word performance about being a woman of colour and recovering from racial trauma.

There will be music and poetry from the perspective of being a trans woman from Callie Rose.

Monica Martins, Managing Director of WomenBeing, said: “Many women are experiencing increased difficulties at the moment, as a result of losing jobs and income due to the lockdown.

“Edinburgh Women's Aid support is essential for many women and children, and we hope that people in Edinburgh join us on Saturday to support this important organisation.”

Scottish Women’s Aid has launched a short animated film about domestic abuse during lockdown.

It was produced by Media Co-Op in partnership with Scottish Women’s Aid’s young expert group Yello!, who have all experienced domestic abuse in their own lives.

Tickets can be found on eventbrite here.
