Five local female artists are set to throw open their doors and invite the public into their studios to show just how they go about their work.
Waverley Line Open Studios has been established to promote and support professional artists working in the area around the soon to be re-opened railway line.
On Saturday, May 10, Kirsty Palmer, Julia Laing, Kiki Pearson, Julie Read and Andrea Geile will open their studios in Eskbank, Newtongrange and Mayfield from 10am until 4pm.
This idea came about after Julie Read posted a message on the What’s On Newtongrange and Dalkeith Facebook pages looking for local artists to get involved.
She said: “I thought it would be good to make contact with and create support for local artists.
“I’m looking forward to it. I just hope it goes well.”
