A Newtongrange drama group set up just over a year ago is to take its first production to Edinburgh for two nights at the Churchill Theatre in June.
Pit Pony Productions was set-up in October 2013 by Newtongrange man Paul Wilson and last August it put on its first performance, of The Steamie, at Newbattle High School.
Paul is now looking forward to performing the show in Edinburgh on June 4 and 5.
He said: “We are excited. It’s been going really quite fast, it’s great for us as a small group. The girls did so well with The Steamie last time. They made it their own with their acting.
“It’s one of those shows that you always get a good turnout for.
“After the great feedback for the show at Newbattle we were asked to perform it outwith Midlothian.
“As we will now be in a proper theatre we will have a cast of 10 instead of five, so it will be slightly different.”
The group is looking for a sponsor, and will hold a 50s night fundraiser at the Dean Tavern on March 21. Call 07883 503377 for more details.
The Steamie, at the Churchill Theatre, June 4 and 5, tickets £12, from firstname.lastname@example.org.
