Last year’s all-day music festival at Dalkeith Country Park will return this summer with a new name and discounted ticket prices.

Midfest Grown in Scotland made its debut last year and will return as Midstock on September 12, with Dalkeith -born former Marillion frontman Fish co-headlining with Glasgow rockers the Fratellis. Other acts include the Hoosiers and Fatherson.

Following complaints last year about ticket prices, organisers have announced a first come first served early bird ticket at £25, nearly half the full price ticket at £40.

Organiser Wullie Slight said: “It’s a learning curve. We have seen the things we got right last year but also the things we got wrong. This year the early bird will be the lowest price at £25. Once they are sold they are sold. And because we got a hard time about kids going to the festival, children aged 12 and under go for free with an adult this year.

“We will also be keeping bar and food prices reasonable to make sure everyone has a reasonably priced day out.”

See the festival’s Facebook page to guarantee early bird tickets or buy limited edition early bird tickets from Saturday, at www.eventbrite.co.uk
