HE boasts Ricky Gervais as a fan, the award-winning writer and actor hailing him as, “Brilliant, brave, raw and analytical without forgetting to be funny,” and millions know him from his social media rants.

In fact, it’s safe to say that his brutally frank ‘frustrated news reporter’ videos have already ensured that Jonathan Pie legendary status - his response to the election of Donald Trump was viewed more than 150 million times worldwide.

Now, Pie, the creation of Tom Walker, is set to bring his Fake News Tour to the Queen’s Hall, later this year. In typical Pie style, his publicist reveals, ‘Due to a sell-out 2019 UK run of The Fake News Tour and high fan demand continuing to frustrate the process, it is with a deep personal regret that Pie announces that he hasn’t been able to conclude his tour on the date he’d said he would, and has instead had to request an extension into 2020.’

The extension will see Pie returning to the road once more to berate the people in power - and the journalists apparently holding them to account. He’ll stop off in Edinburgh on Wednesday 22 April along the way. Brexit, the climate crisis, austerity, social media, cancel culture, Labour, Tories - Pie has thrown aside any red lines on subject matter covered in his explosive show; a ‘lecture-come-apology-tour’, following an unfortunate on-air gaffe made by the irate news reporter.

As Pie, Walker has been described by Rory Bremner as “the most important satirical creation since Partridge.”
