Situated just five miles from Edinburgh city centre, the 1,000-acre estate which has been home to Dalkeith Palace since its construction in 1702, has been in the Buccleuch family for more than 300 years. Home to Fort Douglas Adventure Park and Restoration Yard, the Park itself features way-marked cycling and walking routes and a regular programme of activities ensures there is plenty on offer for the entire family.

During the weekend which will run from 10-13 April, a giant Easter bunny called Duggie will be around Fort Douglas for photo opportunites at 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm. The entrance fee also allows children to take part in an Easter Egg Hunt - the Easter Bunny and his band of merry helpers have hidden a number of rubber eggs throughout Fort Douglas. Find them between 10am and 4pm and eggs-change them for a small Cadbury’s creme egg.

If your little ones need a quieter moment, head over to The Witches’ Den for a series of Easter Crafting sessions as follows:

Easter Clay Creatures: 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Friday, 10th April.
