There’s a zombie Nerf battle happening at Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal in March

Well now you can find out thanks to this zombie Nerf battle that’s happening at Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal in March.

What’s the event?

The event is run by Foam Dart Thunder and it will transport you and your friends to an amazing zombie Nerf gun battle.

Ocean Terminal will be transformed into an amazing military versus scientists battleground amidst a zombie outbreak.

There will be team and individual games taking place across the multiple levels of the shopping centre. You’ll need to bring your favourite Nerf guns and equipment to help you fight against the living dead.

Where and when is it on?

The battle will be taking place at Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh on Saturday 28 March 2020.

The event is broken up into two sessions:

- Dawn patrol, which lasts from 8pm to 10pm

- Midnight shift, which last from 11pm to 1am

Registration for the two sessions begins half an hour before they begin, so allow time for your registration and your briefing when you arrive.

All tickets are available in eTicket form which are sent to you via email, so you’ll need to remember to bring a phone or a printed off version of your ticket. Foam Dart Thunder says that the phone option is preferred.

To buy tickets you’ll need to head to the Foam Dart Thunder website, and then choose which session you want to go for - the earlier one or the later one.

Both sessions cost £25 and tickets are non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled.

The small print

There are a few terms and conditions regarding the event that you should be aware of before booking:

- The event will be recorded and pictures will be taken - by purchasing a ticket, you agree to this

- Protective eyewear must be worn by all players

- The event is suitable for anyone aged eight and upwards - however, be aware that there will be zombie actors with special make-up, which might be scary for younger players

- Anyone under 14 must have an adult on-site and available, either playing or spectacting

- Modded blasters are permitted but the feet per second limit is 100fps max (not average). There will be a chronometer on site to check this

How to get to the venue

The event is taking place at Ocean Terminal, full address: 74 Ocean Drive, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 6JJ.

Participants are instructed to enter Ocean Terminal via one of two entrances:

- The Boardwalk Roller Park from the street

- Transgression Park from the multi story car park

There are a variety of ways to get to Ocean Terminal, no matter how you choose to travel.

Walking

Ocean Terminal is situated at the shore of Leith, so while it is possible to walk there, it will take you about 45 minutes from Waverley Station.

Walk down Leith Walk, take a left onto Great Junction Street and follow it all the way until you get to the end of North Junction Street where you’ll then end up at Ocean Drive.

Bus

There are loads of Lothian buses that will get you to the shopping centre. The following buses will all get you directly to Ocean Terminal: 11, 22, 34, 35, and the 200 Airport bus.

Lothian buses 10 and 16 will get you a short walk away from the shopping centre as well.

Driving

As the event will last quite late into the night, you might prefer to take your car.

There will be free parking at the south end of Ocean Terminal.
