A chimney has collapsed on an Edinburgh roof as the Capital is battered by high winds during today’s storm.

Firefighters were called to Bruntsfield Place earlier this afternoon to make the area safe.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.33pm on Tuesday, February 23 to reports of a chimney collapse at Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene where firefighters removed a chimney pot from the roof of the building.

“Crews left after ensuring area was made safe.”
