Of these new cases, 243 were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 145 in Lanarkshire and 116 in Ayrshire.
To date, 1,499 people are being treated in hospital in Scotland having tested positive for the virus which is 43 fewer than the day before.

Hide AdFirst Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who was making the figure announcement on Thursday during her daily briefing, confirmed this latest hospital patient figure is lower than the Covid peak in spring 2020.
She added 109 patients are being treated in intensive care which is four less than yesterday.
New information which the Scottish Government is releasing during the daily Covid announcements is the amount of patients who are in an ICU who require treatment for more than 28 days having tested positive for the virus – this figure currently stands at 28.
In total, 189,175 people have tested positive for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic in March last year and the country’s death toll stands at 6,599.
