Tyler Ellis, 27, launched a sickening attack on his partner by grabbing her by the neck and pinning her to a bed at her home in Edinburgh in May last year. Ellis pleaded guilty to assault to injury, threatening or abusive behaviour and breaching bail when he appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this month and he was back in the dock for sentencing on Tuesday, September 26. Sheriff Ian Anderson told Ellis sentence was being deferred for a second time to next month for the report from the domestic abuse organisation to be written up and remanded him in custody. Former Hibs star Colin Nish lashed out at his partner Jennifer Murray when the pair clashed at their home in Musselburgh, East Lothian, earlier this year. Nish struck Ms Murray to the face with his head, leaving her with severe bruising and black eyes during the shocking incident that took place while the couple’s children were in the house. Nish, 42, denied the attack on his now-former partner, claiming the pair were both pushing their heads together during the bust up and her injuries were caused accidentally. But a sheriff failed to believe the retired footballer’s version of events and found him guilty of assaulting Ms Murray following a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, September 25. Nish was fined £500. Photo: Alexander Lawrie
A pervert driving instructor was snared for sexually assaulting teenage learners for a second time – after more victims came forward following press coverage. Findlay Munro was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 24 months last year after he admitted targeting two 17-year-old girls while giving them road lessons in Edinburgh. But following press coverage of the attacks, three more female victims then reported Munro’s inappropriate behaviour towards them while he taught them to drive. The instructor was working for the Red Driving School when he sexually assaulted a further two 17-year-old girls and made inappropriate sexual comments to a woman while they drove through several streets in the Capital. Munro, from Baberton, Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to four sexual offences when he appeared at the city’s sheriff court last month and he was back in the dock for sentencing on Thursday, September 21. Sheriff John Cook also placed Munro on the Sex Offenders Register for five years. Photo: Alexander Lawrie
